Hello again,
well last time I was here everyone was so helpful with offering knowledge.
My father passed in April at 57 yrs old and he left the stingray up on one Jack stand tire off.
Written on the windshield was fix me.
The car is all stock and is a convertible that has some damage but okay.
It has been sitting in there for 15 plus years " not started"and fluids have been drained for the most part to prevent a mess.
I asked to have the car so I could do as dad asked and have since had a barn built which was completed last week.
I would like to ask for help on prepping it to move my dads car home "100 mile trip "Hagerty is picking it up on Thursday.
It will need to be rolled out backwards for transport.
I will glady submit photos I am very excited finnally be at this point looking forward to everyone's responses.
Sorry for your loss, but welcome to the C3 club. Glad to have you.
As for the transport, I would say its pretty close to ready considering there are no fluids. As long as the tires are aired up and it rolls, the transport truck should have no issues at all. I would leave it fluidless until it gets home.
You should also consider removing the battery. It can get very very hot in those transport trucks and i wouldnt want you to have any swelling issues. But keep the fluids out, air up tires, remove battery, and prepare for transport!
We transport a '28 Model A Speedster and a '68 Mustang for a race every year, and the biggest thing for us is making sure its not in gear and that the tires are strapped in tight for the ride!
Good luck to you.
Sorry for your loss, but happy about your gain (the C3!).

Any chance I\we could see pics? Even PM me, I'm also a Mustanger, but love to see cars prepped for races!
Car looks to be in good shape! 73' convertible at that! Sorry about your loss, but I'm sure your dad would love for you to have his car rolling again... Looks like it has great potential.
Definitely change all fluids, check the gas tank for rust/varnish etc.... blow the fuel lines clear, new fuel filter.... Obviously its gonna need the brake system gone through as well....More then likely, you need to replace all hoses/belts etc. Lastly replace the tires, regardless of how much tread they have. They are old and they WILL come apart.
Good luck with the project, you have a good car there.
First, condolences for your loss. That’s how I got my C3 too.
Yours looks beautiful from the pictures. Come to the forum often and ask lots of questions. Not everyone here has done every project, but there’s a better than even chance that someone here has done or is doing the next project that you’re about to tackle. Take your time and do things to your satisfaction. She’ll be a real head turner, I’m sure!
C3 is home but need to know what yours thoughts are on jacking up the car?
Put the floor jack under the the front of the and as we raised it to about 18 inches noticed the gap in the passenger door is closing in to the point the door is sticking.
I am afraid to do any work on it at this point.
Any suggestions?

The best solution for getting under the car in a low garage is likely a Kwik-Lift. I had one for a few years, then sold it for what I paid when I was done restoring the suspension.
To get a car on jackstands I use two hydraulic floor jacks if I need to lift the rear (or lift by the differential). I roll up onto RaceRamps, then lift the rear onto jackstands, then lift the front if needed (from the front crossmember, which everyone will tell you not to do). This minimizes pivoting on jackstands. I use the jackstand position in front of the wheels (shown above) when needed.
If you just need to get under the front, RaceRamps may be all you need.
I was afraid I had a bent frame... this flex is not damage then?
and was thinking of the quick jack but at this time I really need to get the front raised.

use the jack points in diagram
the very front is for jack stands support not lift point,
and yes quickjack rocks
I can't tell you if your frame is good or not. But if the door operates normally with the car on 4 wheels, you should be able to get under it to have a look if you keep it on the wheels.
If you just need to get under the front, or under the whole car, I can't suggest RaceRamps, or a Qwik-Lift, strongly enough. The RaceRamps website has a calculator for your approach angle, to tell you which size ramps to get. Be sure to chock the tires!
I’ve been putting my car on 4 jack stands using only a floor jack as you would with any normal car, one corner at a time (I know this goes against what everyone says) and didn’t notice the slightest change in the door gaps at any point. My frame and cage are rock solid. Definitely get looking underneath and pull the interior trim to check the birdcage...
