Great pics. I’m gonna try to make it out there this weekend. Not sure if I will because I’m still recovering from a knee replacement. In addition to being a HUGH auction, it’s also one of the biggest and best car shows.

I believe they have motorized wheelchairs you can use to cruise thru the complex. Several people were using them Thurs. Check the website.
Must have been something about that Ontario Orange LT1 which appealed to the buyer.
Enough to put aside the fact it is a NOM.
Not everybody considers a NOM to be a POS.
Market is what it is.

My guess is that the bidder didn't realize that it's a NOM. Probably thinks he stole it.
PS - I don't consider a NOM car a "POS". I just value them differently than those with their original engines.
Steve...Thanks. I was there on Thursday...the best day.
There were very few C-3's this year. As pictured some were nice. Some, however, were pretty sh!tty. On Thursday morning a red big block was having problems starting it had to be jumped twice...once running it continued to run on 6 cylinders all the way to the staging lanes.
Personally, I go to look....buying one there immediately qualifies the purchaser for membership in the 'more-money-than-sense club.'
Caveat Emptor!
They may be 'qualified' for serial numbers and etc by B-J... but for quality...it's on the purchaser.
Unkahal
ps VIP bidders get 12 free drinks per day!
ppss Sold price does not include...10% BUYERS premium nor tax (B-J is a dealer and gets charged 9.6% Scottsdale sales tax, nor shipping, nor nor nor!!!

A Corvette which still retains its true original drive train is more rare, especially a high performance version. For many, this attribute is worth a premium. When you say you value them differently, that was my point. For others the original drivetrain may not carry as much weight, other factors may have attracted this buyer when considering the overall package. Not necessarily driven by alcohol or foolishness. I personally would put a lot of weight on overall condition, especially body and paint which are VERY expensive to restore. An original drive train on top of this would be the top dog IMO.
My thought was, if I remember this correctly, they did not show the engine compartment at all. On most all the other cars they always open the hood to get a peak inside. Nor did they say what the NOM engine was. I wonder what was under that hood and why did we not get to see it?? Ike
