Hi hope everyone is having a great year. the other day i replaced my shift boot on my 81 vette. when i assembled the console i notice that the defroster light was on an wont go off as well as the A/C is not blowing. I don't know if because the defroster light is on or a separate issue. any suggestions?
Thank you

The defroster lamp and the ac problem are not related.
You can pull back the panel next to the left seat to access the defroster switch. I keep blowing fuses on mine. I can't get it to work. Still fiddling with it.
As far as the ac issue goes. Check the fuse first. The switch is located under the same panel of course. It's a tight fit under there. The switch may be disconnected.
I have some diagrams that may help. Shoot your email to me in a PM and I can send them to you.

Hi Street Rat, my issue is everything was working before the boot replacement? as far as switch are you referring to a fuse? or an actual switch? also i am referring to the rear window defroster that the light stays on. My email is andres@pro-os.com
Thanks for your help!!

The defroster switch has a fuse and a circuit breaker in the fuse box. When it is getting power to the grid the light is on.
The ac switch in the console may have had the connector knocked off. Very easy to do when fooling with the trim plate.
I'll send you some diagrams to look over.
Documents sent.
