Are you buying a bubble-window C3? Good choice!

4-speeds were on ~17% of 78s, and 23% of 79s, including some on L82s.
In 80 and 81, 4-speeds were only on 14% of C3s, and only exactly zero L82s.
Only 82 Commemorative Edition (CE) cars had working hatches (no manuals that year, but all cars had a 4-speed auto).
81 was the only year for the electronically controlled Q-Jet on the L81 engine.

etc.

I feel like I won the lottery sometimes by finding an 80 4-speed.

Just a FYI, info on vettefacts.com concerning the 1978, if you are checking information, has errors. 5th digit is 4 for a L82 not a H. and their engine suffix codes on the stamp pad are wrong. There were about 8000 4spds, L48&L82 (including Pace Cars) so about 17% is correct for 78.

not picky about yr...75 older ideal cause no smog but the body/interior on later ones (plus price) is attractive. Saw this and wondered.

That paint is, interesting. I guess it couldn't hurt to take a look.

With the burden of passing SMOG on the seller, I wonder how many cars like this, or a bit rougher, that would be great project cars in a different state (like my own 80, for example), will now just get crushed, or sold out of state. An unintended consequence of the law that is totally intended. That just contributes more to the rarity, I s'pose.

agree....lotta sellers on CL that are going to be up a creek as they cant sell them.
Most still wanna insist the smogs on the buyer, not so.

I see a TON of great deals on all kinds of 70-90s stuff in Socal keep your eyes peeled.
Many are very nice but all the smogs gone. If a guy could turn a wrench they could score
