So I found this relay just hanging minus a few connected wires, only two where connected "Green and ob Black". Once I cut it out the car won't start. When I connect "Green/Black" I can now get the car to click likes it is trying. The wires come out just behind the distrib and looks original to the car and not an add-on. (2) Green, (2) Black and (1) Red on the Relay.
Anyone know what this could be for?

Starting a fire. Definitely not standard. Is this car new to yoU. Someone could have set it up for a starter solenoid, if you are having starter problems. Check out the wiring on your solenoid.

I would NOT continue to just connect wires to it- looks like it has had a short - or too much current though the plastic relay socket...which means it was probably NOT fused at the source.
I'd disconnect the battery and trace the wires back.
The factory would never install a relay like that! I agree with Richard 454 that it is probably used as an ignition kill. I suspect those splices used wire nuts. Just for info: never, ever, ever use wire nuts in vehicles--there is FAR too much vibration.
That's the one. It still functions with just two wires connected to the relay Black/Green. Once they are connected the car starts. What I've really discovered is a kill switch of my own. I'll clean it up so no shorts or connects with anything and connect a switch to it and Wham Kill Switch.
Thanks, everyone for the review.
Attached the frame off Resto I did. Mostly original but also has Edelbrock Cam and Lifters, Vortec 906 Heads, Headers, B&M and Holley Demon Carbon Fiber Carb. Paint is 2017 Corvette Admiral Blue (Paint code GTR). The Glove Compartment is back in (not in pics). I needed a new distrib on the rebuild and found some guy selling this one. It looks cool at night when the engine is running you can see it throwing spark.
I'd still remove it...Those kill switch relay set-ups were designed to mount under the dash- not in the engine compartment. You can plainly see the relay socket is not made of a heat resistant plastic. And the wire is a PVC type not designed for high temp/under-hood applications. Way too nice to burn up.
Just sayin-
