Working on a recently bought 80 Vette and I have to replace the hoses from the actuator to the relay valves but it seems to be one size on actuator and larger on the relay, was going to local parts store to get some hose, thanks for any help
The local parts stores are very unlikely to have the proper hoses. Both inside and outside hose diameters matter at the relay connections. The center hose connection is slightly oval which ensures it effectively locks all three hoses into place. As it's impossible to use hose clamps on the relays only the exact original style hoses will work without leaking.
Buy a kit from Doc Rebuild (look it up). Proper size hoses cut-to-length and striped just like the originals.
