My interrupt light is staying on with key out as long as power from battery is on. I’ve put a battery disconnect on for the time being.
I installed a new interrupt switch and problem is still the same. As soon as I apply power to car light comes on and something clicks under dash (not the switch). Any idea?
OK wiper override switch, see the comment in the link below concerning the 68 bracket for the switch requiring a ground. It also has a circuit wiring diagram. http://repairs.willcoxcorvette.com/w...-schematic.pdf
YOu have to let the wipers complete a cycle and park so that everything deenergizes. Get the wiper door open and then perform the following:
Turn on the wipers and at the top of the cycle turn the wipers and let them complete their sweep and finish parking themselves....then turn off the key off.
Try doing that first before you go do a bunch of troubleshooting. Tell us what you find. I suspect you might be in just this situation where somebody interrupted the cycle by turning off the key before the wipers completed a cycle and parked on their own
If you let that happen and it works, you can then start troubleshooting the door problems.

The clicking under the dash is probably the wiper solenoid..... do the above wiper sweep exercise first. If it's what I suspect then the clicking will stop and you can move on to work on the wiper door opening.
oh, no biggie, I'll figure it out.......but now I'm in the same situation.... I took an amp reading and the solenoid is picked up and my wiper motor won't move the wipers. Hopefully I'll get to play with it this upcoming week. I never use them I'm not even sure when they quit working, but now I locked them up and the solenoid is picked up. oh well.
UPDATE: For folks that may encounter similar issues with their wiper door.
Figured it out today. It looked like the wiper door wanted to work but I needed to get the wipers to go through a cycle to get them back to the starting point. SO- I did door override and helped the door open by hand. I then verified that the wiper-stopping-kknob was in appropriate position, and then gave the wipers a start signal -----they cycled through and parked so that was good. I then started looking around as to why I wasn't developing vacuum to pull the wiper door open and the headlights were also slow to pop up??????
Turns out the "grommet" on the aft side of the wiper door actuator had pulled out of the actuator body (it was not readily noticeable because of the rubber cover over the shaft).... SO-- I reinserted it into the actuator body and was going to leave it at that...but I decided to RTV it to actuator body. I replaced that grommet a couple of years ago and it had been working great, but I think it will be better RTV'd onto the actuator body. I left it at that so the RTV can cure and I will test it tomorrow.
I do need to adjust the wipers so that the wiper door closes properly..... have to find that guidance...it eventually closes but it should be smoother.

On 68's only, with the wiper over-ride light, if you bump the "interrupt" or over-ride switch the red over-ride light comes on and won't shut off and it will kill your battery over night. Lou.
