Is there a trick to installing these? PO's "restorer" removed them (probably to get access to the rusted number 4 body mount bolts.)
I don't want to hurt the car or myself putting them in. Any tricks/techniques would be appreciated.
Thanks

Thanks. The springs are on, I need to know if there is any trick to installing them. Shove them in? Remove the spring, install tower, then reinstall spring? What is the most effective way?
Not sure where I read about the “challenges” removing and installing these hinges but this is what I did......
Reaching the upper bolts on the hinge housing, especially the outer/upper bolt was just about impossible with the spring still installed. Just no wrench, hand manipulation I could muster would get the bolts out....so....after reading a bunch of threads I ended up drilling two holes (horizontal) per side, from underneath that allow you to slip a socket on an extension and undo the two bolts. I had to have a second pair of hands when installing the bolts just to hold them in position to get them started. Once installed you were left with two holes each side. I cut two pieces of fiberglass and fastened them on with black butyl caulk. Watertight and you will never see it. This is leaving the spring on and the install is painless.
