Ya, I guess so. I had a hell of a time figuring which line flowed which way when I installed a trans cooler. The A.I.M. book was worthless on that detailed description.
I read somewhere that GM wanted the flow seemingly backwards. I recall the theory was that any air bubbles would dissipate at the top of the Rad. But I don't see how that could happen on a "closed" system.
On my trans cooler, fluid enters from the top, gravity flows down.
I traced the picture for the TH350 , the flow went into the bottom of the cooler , gives it a chance to push all the air out of the radiator cooler part I guess.
