Default Window adjustment question

I have adjusted a 1973 passenger side window. So it rests in the up position properly. It just varies where it comes up. Sometimes forward so that it jams against the front window weatherstrip. In other words, It I move the window half way up and stop, I can slide it forward and back. The top of the glass stays parallel with the ground. None of the typical A, B, C, D adjustments allow the window to track up in the same spot, it shifts forward or back. The window cannot be rocked or tilted, but it does move forward and back. Any ideas?

I have replaced both regulators, motors, and weatherstrip and still struggling to get my windows adjusted just right. Its a real PITA! Getting real close but still not exactly right!

ZAKsPop, Thanks, that is pretty extensive and complete. Funny never saw it before on here. Good for you for saving it. Thanks. I was hoping to get a simple answer as I have the windows on both C3’s windows dialed in pretty well. This sliding forward back window had me puzzled. I think I saw the bolts that may be the culprit. Well Ill soon find out. I’m in the Richmond/Lake Jackson area often as I like the beach nearby.

Nearflack, Like you, I don’t do this often so I have to re-educate myself ever time with the 1 page from the AIMs book which makes no reference to the glass moving fore and aft. I just try not to rush and endlessly tinker with it.

i think part of my issue may be the new weather stripping to. I may have to enlarge the holes to allow more outward adjustment at the top
