Default Wiring color

While digging in deeper I am cleaning up what bubba has done. In researching 1969 wiring harnesses I see my tach and Speedo illumination light wires should be grey. Mine are yellow. Could someone shed some light on this? Pun intended.

Are they yellow throughout? It make sense if they originally broke off and these were the replacements. I have had to fix about (4) of mine with replacements
