Default Gas filter

I just bought new correct AC fuel filter. Old filter could be original. Bottom gas line connection leaks no matter how tight. Old filter did not leak. Put old filter back on and it now leaks a little but less than new one. It is a flared fitting with no gasket. Did I tighten it too much and flared fitting is distorted? Do I need to replace steel line which fastened to filter? Is connection on new filter bad? Can a gasket be added? Other suggestions? Thanks.

Sometimes you can torque, let off, torque again, a few times that helps the metal to displace and seal.

Here's how I install flared fuel lines:

A light coating of grease on the tube and flare where the nut contacts it, as well on the threads might solve all your leaks. Worth a try:thumbs:
