HELP! - Steering Wheel Not Locking
Hi,
I recently acquired a 1974 Corvette Stingray and the steering wheel's telescopic function which pushes down or pulls up the steering wheel does not lock! This means when I am driving I can push or pull the steering wheel at will. Any suggestions on a quick fix or troubleshooting? Please see the attached movie illustrating the issue.

The lever on the column is the tilt lever , it releases the lock and allows the column to pivot up and down only .
What your doing is tele (scoping) the column , the lock mechanism for that is the ring behind the horn button and in front (Your side ) of the steering wheel .It should only turn maybe about 1/4 turn from lock to unlock.
