Replacing my dash pad today, in removing the old one it broke in the middle, sure don't want that to happen to the new one, does anyone have tips on installing the new one?
Set it in the sun for a while to soften the plastic or careful use of a heat gun on the underside. Remove pillar trim. If by chance your windshield is out, go in from the front.
Heating gun may Cause to much heat. The new dash pads are very pliable so you should be able to bend it in the middle. If you want to be extra
cautious, put a heating pad on the middle of the pad and let it stay there for 30 minutes so it gets warm. I think the medium setting is ok. If you don’t won’t to remove the drivers side dash, you can mount the drivers speaker first, before setting the dash pad. Just make sure you support that side of the dash. Take your time, those ash pads ain’t cheap.
