Default looking for a mini high torx starter

Hi all have a 73 350 auto looking for a good mini starter. Dont understand how the square mini ones mount up? As the original tucks in and is round at the end?

Look a Powermaster starters while you are on Jegs site. All reports that I've heard from vette users have been positive. T

Do I get 5 stars on my next post?

Just installed a powermaster 9100. Bolted right up.

I bought mine because my headers were way too close to my original starter and I was afraid of heat sink issues. Plenty of room here now.

Of course not; and it's still a good value. It's asian; same as the OE starters. Is yours nicer? Probably. Does mine hold up well? Yes.

FWIW
many name-brand starters with deservedly good reputations, contain core components (e.g.motor, bendix drive, solenoid) that are designed & manufactured by respected Asian companies such as Denso and Hitachi and are manufactured in Asia; despite that, many of those starters' Country of Origin is listed as USA. Asians have capabilities in ChiCom to manufacture sugar or sh7t; depends entirely upon on what the US partner-companies contract for.

For years, myself & others I know have used both alternators & starters from DB Electric. Like any company, DB must have failures/returns ...
... but folks I know haven't suffered any.

Jackson's starter link is a really good value and one of the top choices on this forum for the price. I use a Powermaster on my 69 427 but the stuff from DBElectrical is reliable and cheap. Hard to find both....

The 6t8 has a scatter shield and where the mini starter nose cone is there is a large air gap opening. Some day I'm going to get a-round-to-it and design some of the dust/debris covers for both std and auto trans for the mini starters, my advice is don't hold your breath because I misplaced my round-to-it. only the stuff from the drive gear rearward actuallg goes into the bell housing. so on the "square head" setups nothing but the actual gear itself is in that hole.

Starter is due to arrive tue. Can anyone confrim that it will work on a 73 small block. https://www.dbelectrical.com/product...ong-bolts.html. Just checked the applications list on the web site and it does not show any early c3 small blocks?

Another vote for Power Master mini high torq starters. I have had one for a lot of years and still starting just fine.
