Default Removable Hardtop Rear Glass Exterior Trim

Has anyone come up with a creative solution to this issue, given that it's almost impossible to find the metal trim pieces? I've got the glass, but no trim. I've been trying to think of how I might convert it to be a removable rear glass, as I actually kind of like it open, but don't know what I would use as trim and weather stripping in that situation either.

I am thinking about a shop that fabricates storm windows or maybe one the does custom frameless shower doors. The problem will be how to hold the glass in place as well as keep water out. May start looking at SUV with rear glass windows that don’t have a frame around the glass. I believe my old 2001 Isuzu Rodeo had a rear frameless window, Google a picture and see what it looks like. Hope this helps.

dmaxx3500....good idea.
R.V. dealerships have different width black trim you can purchase by the foot (buy a couple extra feet for oooops)
They also sell "chrome" rubber trim in different widths that would imitate missing original chrome trim which lasts about 10 years if the car is kept in the garage.
Take your time installing it and DO NOT stretch it when you apply it to the glass

The rear window of my '34 truck trimmed with the "chrome trim with adhesive backing"........

pretty sure it is the same stuff as the windshield trim. i am having windshield installed today. i will ask the guy what can be found. this is my windshield top trim. and in your pic of the blue hard top i can see the same OEM clip that mounts my front trim.

This seems like a really good idea. Cheap and worth a shot, if it doesn't work I can always turn back. Thanks for the suggestion.

you are buying a roll of the stuff. change it every car show... second time you put it on will be way better than the first anyway.
