Buying my 1st corvette, any advice on the insurance?
I had American Collectors for 25-ish years and recently switched to NCM (National Corvette Museum) Insurance. AC policy ran $625, new NCM is $500 for same cars, same coverages, small bump in values, but fewer miles allowed per year. NCM limited to 1000 mi/yr but that's not a problem for me. I had no claims through AC for all those years so can't speak to their settlement behavior.
I believe both companies require an every-day driving car be available that is not a specialty car.

You might want to search past threads on insurance. There are many. They all seem to focus on who has the lowest price, not on who gives the best service when you have a claim. That is most important aspect to me in choosing an insurance company. There are some reviews of people’s claims experience, if you do a google search of companies you are considering.

Make sure you get collectors car insurance. There are several out there, NCM, Grundy, Hagerty and a few others. It is very important that you get AGREED VALUE not stated value like your regular car insurance. I have seen several agents tell their insureds that they are covered for full value when in fact they are not. I had Hagerty for awhile with no problems but switched over to NCM mainly because I am a member and wanted to support them .Good Luck!

Yep, agreed value is the key. Here's why.
My buddy lost his '63 Impala show car in a garage fire years ago. Had a regular policy with SF. They started at $3k.
He ended up getting $15k
Car was worth at least $30k.....
Everyone I've talked to who's made a claim has had Hagerty and it's always been no-hassle and quick. I have NCM but never made a claim.
What's the value of your C3? If it's a 1980 worth 7,000 bucks (for example), then maybe just go with whatever your normal car insurance is with agreed upon value full coverage.
BTW, keeping a C3 outdoors you're almost asking for severe birdcage rot in TN. Do you have a car cover to put over it? That would be an excellent idea.

I have had J.C. Taylor Antique Automobile Insurance in Upper Darby PA for almost 40 years insure my 3 antique motorcycles. The rates were unbelievably cheap. In fact, a fourth motorcycle would be almost free ( if I had one).
My Classic (25yo) pickup was only around a $100.00 bucks before I sold it.
My 81 C3 is only a few bucks more than the pickup was. They did need to insure it before I could get classic plates in AZ so I could ignore inspection. It includes uninsured motorist, liability and Comp and collision for an agreed value well above the average price of a good C3. They have been unbelievably friendly all those years and a pleasure to talk to and deal with. You do need some photos, a garage and (I think) a daily driver but they never asked for proof.
TG I have never had a claim, but I am more concerned with liability coverage to meet MV requirements.
I understand Foremost Insurance underwrites their policy’s.

Oh! And BTW.........very, very important if you have a C3......they have flatbed breakdown recovery for only a few bucks.

Garage. they insist on that so it is inside the house. homeowners coverage...
of course they do lousy crooks I’m kind of in the middle I use my regular state farm insurance for my car cost me a couple hundred a year to add it I’m sure that there’s no agreed value but I’m somewhere in between right now I have a 79 it’s not worth a fortune but it’s probably worth more than average 79 probably something I should look into or at least talk to State Farm. Has anybody discussed with State Farm agreed value and what are they do.
I like the ability to drive my car any time all year I don’t store my car per se I drive it as often as I can even in the winter if the roads are dry and there’s no salt and the heater works just fine

Homeowners insurance has nothing to do with you automobile, I understand State Farm has a supposedly Agreed Value, but you are far better off going to a collector car company..
