First off the pictures of the drain oil do not show just an accumulation of moisture from setting. Thats a lot of water mix. I still don't think your out of the woods yet. Keep a eye on the oil. You said the antifreeze was ok, Antifreeze and internal engine parts don't get along to well, the antifreeze repels oil causing lack of lubrication on the bearings. On that posting about the fuel filter, after running awhile more change out that small filter again,. And as stated about the fitting on the carb, NEVER put tape or sealant on a flare fitting, the threads don't seal the connection, the flare nut pressure does.
The car was in the back yard of the property with a tarp over it. No evidence of direct water infiltration as the engine compartment and components didnt show too much rust. I forgot to mention I found a missing intake manifold bolt. I replaced it. Not accessory hole, an actual manifold bolt was missing. The interior was like a fish tank. Saturated for years. Even the under caarriage had lots of white mold. I'm in the New England so we get -10 to 100 weather and always high humidity.
pull the kick panels and check the number two body mounts. Take a look at the sheet metal right below the outer corners of the windshield. Don't fall in love with this car until you're sure the underside is solid enough. There's a real good chance you're working on a parts hulk. https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...orvette-6.html. go to post 107 shows you how to find all the bad stuff on these cars that you are going to find on that car.

The intake bolt could be your problem. Water circulates through the intake front and back of it, both sides into the heads. If either the front 2 bolts or back either side are loose water could seep past the paper gasket down into the lifter valley and down into the lower engine oil. That could be your water leak problem. No real way to tell if the gasket is leaking there. A pressure check will show loss but not a given point. Intake manifold gasket is easier to change than a head gasket but still a PIA.
You could also pull the plugs to see if one or more look very clean as a result of being cleaned with water while the engine was running. A very rusty plug will also point you in the direction of a blown head gasket, cracked head or a cracked block. Keep us posted. Jerry

none of the plugs showed rust or looked "clean". Just typical carbon build up. The missing bolt was 2nd from the back / passenger side. I'm thinking it was that missing bolt that allowed the moisture to get in. That's direct access.

Thanks- I'll check out the #2s and see. Hopefully I dont find out I'm dealing with a " #2 "
kit will come with pump piston-diaphragm-cup-whatever it is called... is this windshield rot under the windshield? is windshield out? what do body mounts look like? cuz that matters more than the carb.

Under the weather stripping between the interior panel. You got me nervous now. Going to pull the kicker. Had a problem getting the sill plates out. Screws are rusted.
which problem? The running lean issue is probably due to the carb. Will rebuild. If that solves it then I'll assume for now the head gasket and intake mani gasket are Ok.
Designer Imagines A Corvette That Looks More Like a Corvette Than the Corvette
