Hi guys/gals,
Quick question I was hoping I could get some feedback on. In general what is a 70 Convertible 4 speed with a replacement big block 454 390 hp engine in her. Car is in above average condition overall and everything works. Just trying to get a feel on valuation range as the seller and I have a pretty decent difference of opinion on what the car is worth. I know this isnt a ton of information but just looking for some guidelines. Thanks.

I would say approx $25k-30K if it's a rust free car, add $2500 if the car has the auxiliary hard top......IMHO
You only live once, get together on a price if that's the car for you!
Photos will definitely help with evaluations, as well as a list of options, and the replacement motor that was used. The actual color combination of the car will also determine the value.
I own a '70 454/390 automatic convertible that is all original, except for one repaint, with the original drive train, protect o plate, tank sticker, and dealer invoice, and I wouldn't sell it for less than $50k. I may never sell mine, as it drives like a damn Cadillac, smooth and easy down the road with the 454 up front.

I just paid $29k for a 69 coupe with a 71 454/auto in what I thought was great condition. I had Lemonsquad check it out and they gave it a glowing review. Had it shipped to me and it needs a lot of little things. All the suspensions bushings are worn out, passenger side window sags a little going up, blinkers don't work consistently, one of the interior pieces is chewed on near the t-top, passenger side mirror was drilled wrong and moved, and the driver's seat belt doesn't unlock. I think I'll be another $2k into it before most of it is straighted out. I'm going to upgrade the suspension in a year or so, so that will be another $4-10k (depends on the wife), and the hole in the door is gonna stay there until God knows when.
TLR - look for the little stuff and make sure you are ok with it. If its all good, I agree with the 25-30k.
Whats were his opinion and yours of the value?
Mark,
You can do a search in the cars for sale section of the forum, and find a pretty good valuation based on those cars, and what you have seen of this car. Like others have posted above, the more detail you provide the better the estimate...
