Broken ear on differential cover

Broken ear on differential cover
While torquing the bolts on the spring plate I managed to break an ear on the cover on my 68. I wasn’t anywhere close to the torque specs. Is it possible to replace the cover without removing the differential completely from the car?

Yes you can replace the diff cover in the car however it is much easier and safer to remove the diff.
Improper installation will snap the stock ears off, buy a Muskegon cover.
