Default C3 soda blasting

Anyone know what grit and how much soda it generally takes to strip a c3?

Don’t use soda!!!

Some paint manufactures will not warranty their product on vehicles that were soda blasted.

SPI is one paint manufacturer that does not. Do a search on SPI in Georgia and go to their forum to locate info. regarding use of soda. You can even text the owner (Barry) regarding the down falls of soda blasted vehicles.

Post this in the paint/body section and maybe Porchdog will chime in.

Be careful with this method also. I recently had the underbody carefully done with this method and it came out ok without letting them get aggressive. As a sample, I had them do a small section on the bottom of a door that resulted in damage. The only advantage to this method is the injection of water that eliminates most of the dust factor.

If anyone has their vehicle blasted make sure you are present when the process is taken place. A lot of these guys think they are blasting a metal car and don’t know what they are doing with fiberglass even though they claim to.

Thanks for the info guys. I’m still a little new on here. I didn’t notice that there was a paint and body section.
