Default 1969 Seat frames

Hey all,
New to the community but have a question about 69 seats. I bought my 69 convertible last year and am in the long process of restoring it ( and loving it! ). It came with seats that appear to be mid 70's high back type. I am putting the original style seats back in it and have purchased some 69 mid latch backs with the headrest brackets. I did get one bottom but it is pretty rough and will need some rusty areas repaired.
I compared and measured the 69 bottom to the mid 70's replacements and except for the back latch placement they seem identical. I can remove the center latch it has now and just add the side latch where it needs to go.
The hinge holes, track holes, spring clasps, frame shape & thickness all seem to be exactly the same. I have heard and read about 69 bottoms being hard to find ( which seems to be the case and if you do they want $200) but these later seats are everywhere.
With new foam, hardware and covers, I can't imagine there would be any difference. Am I missing something?
Thanks.

I learned, while recovering the seats on my November built 69 coupe, that the seat backs can be the same as those found in a 70. The right side adjusting bolt is threaded with the bolt screwing into the seat back. I was missing one and ordered it from Zip. The 69 part would not fit, but the 70 fit perfectly. I found this info in an obscure post here on the forum. I can send you a pic if you think this might be something you have encountered.

Thanks VS for the response.
That does not seem to be any issue in my situation as I have 69 seat backs with the headrests. Only thing I should have to do is remove the old center clasp of the mid 70's bottom and install a new 69 clasp on the outer edge. Tack weld a couple nuts underneath and should be good to go. Some new hardware, foam & covers. Speaking of which, what material cover did you use?

I used all leather seats and new foam from Corvette America. Very pleased. Get the complete kit and the best hogring pliers.

Everything you see in the pic is original except the seat covers. Perfect match for Bright Blue.

I converted my 68 seat backs to 69. I bought a pair of 69 seat back frames from eBay. Why? I wanted head rests and the 69 seat back frames had the inner works to accomodate head rests. I had them covered with the same light bright blue leather as shown in post 4. I discovered that Al Knoch had just purchased the molding to make factory duplicate head rests, so I had my long sought head rests made in matching bllue. Had to supply a set of donor head rests that were bought on eBay. Also installed the 69 shoulder belt retainers that fit on the seat back tops and bought a set of duplicate repro 68 shoulder belts from Ssnake-Oyl $$$. Only 35 68 Convertibles had shoulder belts. Had to buy the sholder belt buckle retainer. They were hard to find, but they were also used on the 67's with shoulder belts so I found a blue OEM retainer.
