Default Transmission kit quality

Hi everybody,

I'd need to refresh my original M20 transmission for my 1971 LT-1, and I must say I'm a bit confused by all the kits offered in the market.
Many of them are shown on ebay, amazon, or specialist dealers like "5speeds.com (Paul Cangialosi)" or "allstategear" or "thegearbox.org"...
Though they all look the same the prices are really different.

Are there many manufacturer or just a couple of them and many distributors ? I assume "Transpart warehouse" is a manufacturer, but what it worth ?

What is you experience in terms of quality (synchros, gaskets, finish... ).

Well any feed back will be much appreciated.

I second Paul. These rebuilds are not difficult, but before doing the rebuild, I would read
his book his book
.

He sells all the different parts you would need individually or as kits, but he seems to promote replacing everything inside as long as you are doing the rebuild. That makes sense to me. Why have old parts mating with new parts? The kit that contains all the new parts you need isn't that costly anyway.

Hi guys,

Paul's experience and high quality standards are irreproachable. I love all his pedagogic work on Youtube and his books.
Though, I'm not sure Paul is the manufacturer of these parts (except may be the gasket with the red rubber line insert)

My question was is there a brand or known manufacturer of those parts, we can trust in ?

I live in France and if I need to import a kit, I have duties and shipping cost that are quite high to pay.
So I'd like to know if there are other options than Paul...

Thank you anyway for participating.

Be sure to add 1 (maybe add a spare) of his bronze pilot bushings to your order !!!! These are very important and hard to find locally anywhere. Paul is the source.
