pull the kick panels and windshield trim. the birdcage is the hardest and most time-consuming thing to repair. if it is really clean, leave the trim off and make sure prospective buyer is shown the condition. this thread. roll down to post 107. shows all the nasty stuff. https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...orvette-6.html car looks nice from 1 pic. so it isn't a 5k piece of crap. but is it 13, 23 or 33? orig engine and trans? 4 speed or auto? we need pics.

Thanks. I'll get those kick panels and w/s trim off to see and show some pics of that. The car is owned by the father of the deceased son who bought it 10+ years ago. It is a p/s, p/b, factory a/c car. It is 4 speed and I would guess the trans is the original. The 454 engine shows to be service replacement with casting dates from 1974. It runs and drives and stops. But it will need a restoration. I think always a southern car.
I am helping the owner sell the car. I'll post some more pictures including the bottom so folks can see how it looks and what shape it is in.
Put it on eBay with no reserve, honest straight up good and bad, lots of photos, phone to call with questions for 18. If you started too low, market will bid it up. If you start too high, you will not get any bids and so can relist at say 17. I have sold a number of Corvettes like this and usually start too high. Looks nice and I like it, NOM engine and maybe needs paint pulls the price down for me.
Also ck completed eBay sales, advanced search, plus Haggerty, Corvette DNA, Mecum for comparables.
Good luck and hope this helps
Edit:. On cell, photos hard to see; if paint and repair are good, start bid at 19.

It looks black in the photos. What was the original color per the trim tag? Obviously add-on side pipes. What does the rear valance look like? Are the stock exits still there? Is the interior modified?
Answering the previous points made about rust and condition should tell you a lot about valuation. If it needs a full restoration without frame work, 15 might be the max to expect.

Yes the old exhaust exits are still in the valance. The interior is stock. I'll have to look the trim tag (but it was a blue color originally). I have a lift here and we will get some photos up in the air; birdcage photos too. Tks for the guidance. .

Paint is not too great. I guess we should fill up those exhaust exits on the valance? Side pipes are not too great either.
Here is the '72 shined up a bit. The paint is ok from 5 feet but rough as you get
closer (scratches, imperfections, etc.) It will need paint. I'll get some photos of the birdcage later today hopefully
Here are some photos of the metal frame on the A pillar and down in the bottom corner of the cabin. We see no rust there, Are those the photos that are needed?
Consider checking out the Haggerty Valuation Tool that Haggerty makes available. It will give you an idea of what values are assigned to condition, options, etc. I have used it a lot and found it to be very helpful.
From what we can see so far, this car looks like it has ok/decent bones, and it has some very desirable options: BB, a/c, pb, stick, ps?, deluxe interior?, etc. However, it's definitely a project and, based on what I can see, certainly worth saving and putting it back on the road. Needs paint, interior work, under hood work, etc. - and that all adds up. If it needs brake, suspension, etc. work, that will impact what it's worth today in current condition. Corvette DNA is not a bad place to get a 'general idea'. It lists a '72 with these options, in 'project' condition with 'average' mileage, to be worth around $16k. In 'excellent' condition, it shows about $33k. We all know that most of us are underwater on our C3's and it's often a 'labor of love' for the beautiful C3 and our hobby - but it appears (there can be a lot we don't see yet) there's some room here to make this work out ok financially too. With disclaimers.
Looks like you are close to Jackson, Mississippi, so how much are you asking???
And you might list in the C3 for sale section here if you decide to not go the ebay route.
Another thought for you, assuming this mass insanity subsides; which it will come November, bring it to Cruisin the Coast and put a "For Sale" sign on it.

The owner wants to start at $25k. It's easy to come down, harder to go up.
Don’t change the rear valance, if someone doesn’t want side pipes they will need that valance. It would be nice if a C3 like this one could get $25K, we need to see C3’s go up in value.
I don’t think this car is an original deluxe interior. Door panels are newer with just the insert in wood grain style, no carpet on the door. Center console doesn’t have wood grain stick-on, and not sure if loop or cut pile carpet. Missing seatbelts, interior roof panel covers missing, non original radio missing ***** and buttons and control **** missing next to the water gauge. Looks like dash was apart, refitting upper dash and center gauge cluster not right. Shifter ball missing and looks like water got inside, rusted screws and some rust on hardware. In my opinion, it appears to be a $15 to $18K car assuming the chassis will show the same level of wear and tear.
72 big blocks are not the sought-after pieces that 69 big blocks are. those #2 body mounts are not rusted away, but not very good either. at 25k, the body does not need to come off the frame. this one does.
Here are some photos up underneath. There is no rust through except in one spot on the driver's side where the frame turns up to go over the axle (photo #6). The rest is surface rust (or appears to us to be.)
