Default Wiring Mystery

Going though all of the wiring before I put everything back and I have a mystery wire that don't show up on any of my wiring diagrams.

I was pretty good about labeling everything but both ends of this wire are 2 that I didn't label or the label fell off. It looks like some sort of resistor or filter. I have an electric tach, but the end in Pic 1 can't reach the tach. It looks like if would plug into the speedometer or light switch, but I don't have any unaccounted for lugs in that area. The other end is near where the center console and gauge cluster meet (driver's side). It has a double connector but only one wire. There are no tan 12 gauge wires on my wiring diagram. Maybe it's part of my flux capacitor.

'68. There is continuity between both ends of the tan wire, less than 5 ohms. There is no continuity with any of the wires on the ignition switch.

Is that the wire that goes to the ignition interference capacitor on the steering column? I thought might was heavy guage brown but with only on terminal on the connector.

It could be. Even though the car is a '68 it had a '69+ steering column in it which I am replacing and putting the ignition back in the dash. It definitely looks like a capacitor which I was thinking it was some sort of noise reducing filter. The other end would reach the radio that was in the car when I bought it. My replacement radio has a filter built in. I'll look at the old steering column this evening and see if I can find a place for it.

Thanks.

I know this is an old thread but I found a brown wire under my dash similar to this with a connector but the wire coming out of the connector is cut off. Where does the other end of the brown wire go if there was a capacitor on the broken end? Would like to trace it and make sure that's this wire. Thank you, Rob
