1973 tire size

Anyone know the widest tire you can run on a 1973 without it rubbing?

Assuming in 15", 245/60x15, maybe 255/60x15 with no modifications and stock wheels.

as the body-style progressed 255's became more of a 'sure thing' due to modifications on the production line.

For right now I'd say 245's are the sure thing on a '73.

All bets are off if you start changing offset/backsets and etc. standard 8"x 15" Rally wheel and or YJ8 aluminum wheels.

Best of luck....but 245 are a sure thing.

255's on mine, stock wheels. Slight frame rub when cranked hard to the left.
