Default Carpet attachment question 71

Just a call out for quick help before I tear up something...
working on carpet replacement in my 71. Removed the seat well carpets and am not sure about the three rubber attachments in the front of the passenger side. Do they pull out or do you just put holes in your new carpet and press them over them already attached?

They need to be pulled out. Usually they don't survive being removed, you can try to push them using a small screw-driver worked around to help get them out without tearing them in half
Check with NAPA type places for new ones before going to the vette places, they are common to most all GM vehicles

They pull out but spray on the back side of them with silicone or other lube so they dont't tear apart
