I have a 73. Has anyone ever ordered imported rear chrome bumpers? If so, how did you like them and where did you order from? There is usually a big difference in price as the old saying goes you get what you pay for. Just wondering if anyone went the cheap imported route and were you pleased. Not looking for "show" quality either. Thanks in advance.
lots of past threads on them. make sure to search. Generally they are thin and the bolts/holes are not accurately spaced meaning they have to be massaged to fit. Some of the licensed GM stuff matches that description too. Get good used instead.

Personally, I wouldn't screw around with replacement chrome bumpers. I have a little booger mark on my left rear bumper. If and when the time comes that it really starts bugging me, I'll have it rechromed. Right now, I like the "Patina"!
Here's one shop.https://paulschrome.com/
I have the imported ones on the back of my 72. I bought them from Ecklers. Great fit and shine. They are on 2 years and no signs of chrome failure. No problems with fitting them. Bolted right on.

In my opinion you are much better off finding an original set and having them re-chromed. The cheep aftermarket bumpers are sometimes off and the chrome is much cheaper quality.
I bought a set of repops, they look great now and am very happy. I realize the chrome is second rate, so I'm constantly keeping a fresh coat of wax on them.
I have a 1968 Corvette and I went to Corvette@Carlisle and there was a chrome company there swapping out newly re-chromed old bumpers. I bought a set of 1968 parts from them and they have lasted over 25 years. I would strongly suggest you get your parts re-chromed over the winter months. This way you have a part that fits your Corvette and is still "original" since the 1973 used special parts. It is cheaper when you have time to let them work on them, if you order them right away you will pay the difference.
There are a lot of parts when you have chrome bumpers up front as well as out back. Fortunately the 1968 Corvette was made with less chrome trim than most cars of the time. My Corvette doesn't even say Sting Ray any where on the entire Corvette.
The Stingray name should have stayed with the "mid-year" 63-67 Corvettes. We have SHARKS!!! And the 68 & 69 Corvettes have the side gills to prove it! Lou.
And you can actually FEEL the heat coming out of those gills from my little 427 lurking under that massive hood.
I think they were actually using the Manta Ray shape more than a Sting Ray. I really hate those stupid little sting rays they put on the sides of the newer Corvettes. Only in the Corvette Sales brochure for 1968 did they ever mention the words "Sting Ray" related to the 1968 Corvette.
If I had a Corvette with little Sting Ray emblems on it I would pull them off and fill the holes. All I have are the letters C-O-R-V-E-T-T-E on the rear of my Corvette and the numbers 4-2-7 on my hood. Nothing more needs to be said....
