I would like to know from those with Hagerty Insurance who deals direct with them instead of thru an agent?
Asking, as I currently have them thru an agent in NY State that I feel will help me if I had a claims issue.
I need to get a new policy as I moved to Florida so I can register the car. The agency that handles my homeowners and other cars in Florida is much larger and I don’t see them helping with a claim if needed. Options are to get a Hagerty policy direct or find a local agent.
I have dealt directly with them for about five years. Over the phone they have provided towing three times and replaced a cracked windshield. Excellent over the phone service. I also recently increased the agreed value and it was done easily .

Reason: typo
I purchased my Corvette insurance directly from Hagerty. I have also increased the agreed amount twice with no issues. I have only used the towing benefit once with no issue. I dont have any experience with claims, so I can’t speak to that.

Support a local agent. I go through my agent. Have Hagerty, pay $280 a year for 35k agreeded value. What would you save going direct? Not much. But through a small local agent you're supporting a family. Think a little beyond the bottom line and support local.

I’m glad you mentioned that. When I purchased my homeowners insurance and car insurance, my agent was my neighbor. He has since retired and moved. Prudential is now Liberty Mutual and appears to have eliminated agents from my policy. I will search agents when renewing.
My agent for my homeowners, flood, and other vehicles also writes with Hagerty. I did not know this when I got my initial quote. When I learned he could write Hagerty through casual conversation, his price was the same.
I like the convenience of having one local agent handling all my insurance. Him and two of his staff are first name basis with me. I even have his cell for after hours.
Of course, I can still call the 800 numbers for serious after hours issues.
I would try to stay with a local agent you can get to know.
