Lifted our 1969 this past weekend and found this part laying on the floor of the garage. Cannot tell you if it was on the garage floor before I lifted the car or if it fell off the car while the car was being lifted. Need your help. What is it and where does it belong? I've looked for a matching part on the RH side of the car and no luck finding the match so far. Would make sense that there are two of these, one for each side of the car. Obviously, a damper or rubber cushion of some sort...but for what?
Thanks in advance for pointing me in the right direction.
I finally located the spot where the A-Arm rubber bumper was located before it fell out of position. Took some doing and was certainly not very easy to see without a mirror. Sure wished I was 40 lbs smaller 40 years younger. Virtually impossible to see the bumper location with the tires off the ground. Makes sense PJO that the a-arms have to be moved to install the replacement bumper.
Anyone happen to have a PN and description for this A-arm front suspension rubber bumper for a 1969, small block L-46. I looked in the front suspension area of the AIM but did not find this part.
Thanks once again for helping me solve this mystery part and its location.
Found them: CC PN 572020 63-82 Front Suspension Bumpers Upper and Lower.
Mine are missing. Must have fallen off long ago. This thread came at the perfect time. I am putting my front end back together right now. Glad I saw this before I put everything back together. This forum is great!
