Hi new here and am very forum illiterate!
from Tulsa Oklahoma and recently got a 73 bb coupe. I joined to ask questions of people that know what they are talking about. Thanks for letting me join! Hopefully I’ll figure out how to use this forum.
First question—— Are the sun visors stationary or do they supposed to move up and down??
Thanks in advance. Ken
here is what a junk sunvisor looks like when cut open. Your pins are probably frozen, You can work the pins out w/ a vise grip/ lube 'em up, good for another 47 yrs. This pic shows what happens to the white metal if you force them to rotate.
thank you for the pics of the broken one. Twisted to hard and that’s exactly what I did to mine. Guess I need new ones now.
can I actually fix once like that. Didn’t tear anything. But the sleeves look just like that on one half of drivers. Quit messing with them for now.
If the long pins aren’t terribly rusted, you can use 1000 grit emery cloth to remove any rust, before reuse them. Or just buy new ones, don’t forget the screws if they are rusted too. Welcome Aboard.
Thank for all the help guys. Ruined one of the visors. Where do y’all recommend buying reproduction interior pieces. I’ve heard of several different places but not sure who sells the best fitting and still look original. I would appreciate you input. My interior is good but would like to make it look new again. Thank you!!
