The carpet on the back of the seats looks pretty bush without trim of some kind. Has anyone put trim or some kind of border to make it a cleaner look? Pictures??

Reason: Add
The rear seat carpet insets were not "bound" around the edges, at least not on my original ‘82. My replacement set of seat back carpet inserts from AC are also, definitely not bound around the edges.

The original seat back carpets on my 81 were not bound, but the replacements were. The bound edges tend to make the inserts a tad oversize, so make sure you do a trial fit before gluing them in place. A bit of extra contact cement around the edges helps.

I went back to find photos of my 80 when I got her. The original red seats had been painted/dyed black during an entire interior color conversion. The seat back carpets were NOT bound at the edges. However, the carpet was not original, it was replacement black carpet, likely from years ago. Looking at for sale ads for 1982 Corvettes, I couldn't find any evidence of bound seat backs.
At any rate, original or not (I'm guessing not), the bound-edge carpets are available. My set of red ACC carpet (made in 2018) came with bound-edge seatback carpet. Good tip on the gluing!

Whats bounded?
original 79 oyster that is actually 78 color
looks bound edged?
Those are the bound edges.
In my black on oyster 79 (VIN in the 40Ks), I had the later 79 oyster. Though the carpet has been refreshed once or twice, the original door panels have the darker gray-ish carpet on them. I've since replaced it all with the 78 brown-ish carpet, including door panels.
I wonder if this happened to your car in reverse. The panel on the back of the seat, (and also on the on the cargo doors) looks like the later 79 carpet, but the rest of the carpet looks like the 78. It could just be the lighting, though. That might explain the bound carpet, too.
