Hold pressure on the high spot with your hand to see if it will settle into place...fiberglass body parts will distort when removed.
If your hand pressure will not cause it to sit flush with the door surface you may have to lightly sand fiberglass off the INSIDE of the clip and also sand the mating flange on the firewall to make the clip fit.

Exactly what it was, had the clip off yesterday and there was a little bit of excess bonding glue on the inside of the clip!
