Emergency: Need help now
I’m on a road trip to the north of Spain in my 71 coupe. There are massive rain and thunderstorms coming and my windshield whippers switch just broke. It just flops around and doesn’t do anything. Any quick fixes or is there a way to bypass the switch to get them working. I’m hundreds of miles from home and the rain is predicted for the next several days..... I posted this in the Tech forum too...

I have the connector un plugged that goes to the switch. There is a dark blue left, black center and light blue right ... I cut a small pice of wire and stripped both ends, inserting one end where the middle black wire is and then tried touching the other end to the left dark blue wire, got nothing. The tried from the center black wire to the right blue wire, still nothing...
If i’m not mistaken. Wiper switch works by grounding each wire, one for each speed and Third is the washer pump. So hook up a cable from one wire (i cant remember which is what speed but youll figure it out) to a ground point On the bird cage and you should be back In action
Did the wiper switch break apart in two pieces? There are metal tabs which hold it together, maybe it just needs reassembling?
edit, Someone will confirm but i think the centre gauge bezel is grounded so you can just secure the wire to the screw that holds the wiper switch bezel in

The dark blue is for the washer operation, the other 2 are for wiper speeds. I'm pretty sure the light blue is for high speed wiper and the other is for low speed. Try grounding the light blue wire at the connector to see if the wipers operate, I assume you are using your wiper door pull down to keep the wiper door open.
