Default Heat to cold dial

It seem I can go from the heat up to the middle but not to cold on the temperature side. I saw the 4 screws on the console is it that easy to access the unit. Where would I find a replacement

Possible cure:
I had this problem on mine. the bottom side of the dial was hitting a clip that attaches the parking brake cable. Remove the ash tray and look that way . I doubt its broke but if you insist i have one, pm me.

"usually" the string that moves the indicator when you rotate the dial/wheel falls off one of the roller guides and prevents you from moving the wheel/indicator/vent cable
simple to fix
challenging to get to

If you look carefully at the right side of the photo above you can just see the string on the black indicator piece

Thanks for the help. It is rubbing on something I circled it in the picture. It is a round cylinder with metal rod attached. I can raise it up with my fingers and it works fine. To take of the console to see better is it as easy to just remove the 4 screws.

probably the brake cable and clip I described. Yes take the 4 screws out and you can access it easier. Although I was able to hit the clip with a large flat tip screwdriver to drive it down a small amount. Also you may notice when you loosen the 4 screws And pull the console up a bit you’ll be able to turn the **** freely
