Hi,
I have a 1972 454 engine with the aluminum GM 3946074 heads. Compression is 10.75:1 with a 215/215 duration....566/566 Lift....110 degree cam and a GM aluminum 3963569 intake. Looking for spark plug recommendations.
Thanks, Mike
Lewis can offer you a package deal ….. custom tune and Diablo. He provides very prompt service and detailed instructions of what you need to do.
i have used him 3 times (3x C6) and it really wakes up the LS engine…..smoother idle, firmer shifts, & better mileage if you can control your right foot.
That cam duration with that high of compression are you running into any detonation problems?
I use the NGK BKR5ES with my 10.6 CR and aluminum heads and it works well. If that's too hot you could try the BKR6ES which is one heat range cooler.
MY 10.6 CR with a 219/219 cam on a 108 LSA produces over 200 psi on a compression check. I can only imagine what yours would blow with a 215/215 with a 110 LSA.
