Working on my 68 frame and sometime in it's past someone put a new clutch bracket on the frame and did a terrible job. I have looked in my Manuel's and cannot find any location measurements. If anyone has a frame that they ca measure from the front of the frame rails back to the center of the channel for the rod, and from the center line of the frame to the face of the bracket it would be appreciated.

Uh Ohh! I just went to corvettefaq.com. They have/had information about frame dimensions for the various C3 frames. Looks like this site is closed. I hope all of Jim Shea's articles have been preserved somewhere.
Easiest place to measure is from the left front brake line support to the center hole on the Z-bar. I get exactly 13.5 inches to the center of the hole.
Was hoping to get a measurement from the front of the frame rail back to the center of the groove and then from the centerline of the frame out to the inner face of the bracket. My engine is off being machined. Any combo of known points to determine position both front to rear and side to side will help thanks for helping
I tried to pick a place that was close to the Z bar, and also one that was not unique to the 68. My body is still on my car. Hopefully I'll be pulling the body off this weekend. But the frame horn on the 68 is one year only (of course), and the frame I'm using is off a 72. So I can't take a measurement for you from the front of the frame horn and give you a usable number. I will see if I can get a centerline measurement. The Z bar should be parallel to the centerline of the frame.
If there are any other landmarks that are easy for you to locate, let me know and I'll grab a measurement from that spot.
How about we start from here and see if we can build you a drawing that dimensions what you need?
Notice the top and side views of the drawing shows the shift bracket in position on the frame so we certainly ought to be able to get dimensions and add them to this drawing.
I have a frame in the garage now, should be able to get those dimensions, will check today.
