That will do it. Replace with rubber. I used poly and it resulted in my driveshaft hitting the body tunnel. Jerry

That right there is exactly why I am doing a frame off on my 68. I heard that same loud clunk, and the scraping of the driveshaft against the body, and I knew something wasn’t right. But 50+ years of rust and decay leaves the steel pretty weakened, and fortunately that is what gave out, and not the actual frame rails.

Eddie...I've worked on dozens of rusty NEW ENGLAND C-3's.....man! that one takes the cake. Gives me the heebie-jeebies just looking at it.
