Starting bid is $30,000. Not exactly certain what the expectation is for money from the owner but have seen way too many of these auctions "stopped" by the owner before ending by time. I think eBay auctions of cars is pretty much a game now, but that may be just my opinion.

Don't know if it's relevant, but the car was listed a while ago by the same seller and was 'sold' for $35,000. Now it's back again.
Could just be a non-paying bidder but it makes you wonder...
Listed as a 68 and absence of the stingray logo seems to confirm that.
The vin doesn't appear to work for me on any lookup tools.
I dunno what the start ands stops mean exactly for ebay... I assume price fishing. But I think 35-40 is not outrageous. This isn't some recent restoration car and you're likely in on something to get it solid.
I don't know enough to comment on parts and engine beyond that.

It's on the C3 registry site but don't know if that proves anything. According to the info there it has the following:
19437 - Base Corvette Sport Coupe (BB 435hp)
A31 - Power Windows
G81 - Positraction Rear Axle
J50 - Power Brakes
L71 - 427ci, 435hp Engine
L89 - Aluminum Cylinder Heads for L71
M21 - 4-Speed Manual Transmission, close ratio
U79 - AM-FM Radio, stereo

Thanks for showing me this. I'll find that registry for future use.
Damn that's a nice car load out though.
It’s definitely a 68. Vin is a 68, so are the doors, taillight set up, etc.
As for what is numbers matching is anybody’s guess, if anything.
Here is what I can see that is non original. Hood, side pipes, passenger door mirror, everything under the hood. Maybe the block is original but I would seriously doubt it. A 435hp (if that’s what it originally was but I seriously doubt it) is a tripower set up, not what’s under the hood now. The tach is also wrong for a 435 L71. It has a small block tach. My guess is nothing is original.
The car is priced fairly, not a really great value deal, just fair. And that’s assuming there are no really big issues with the frame.

The ad says nothing about the car. It says "All Numbers Matching..." Numbers matching what? Doesn't say horsepower. Heads, intake, carb, radiator, exhaust, steering wheel, air cleaner, valve covers, distributor, hood have been replaced and all of those original parts had "numbers" on them. Who knows what this car started life as. Its starting price might very well be OVER priced.

Good points. I keep forgetting in the Corvette world there is no equivalent of the Marti report, so I guess there's no reliable way of matching the VIN to the factory build spec of the car unless you have a build sheet.
Interesting thing to me is, given the car is listed on the C3 registry here: https://www.c3registry.com/index.php...eZTijxVZPjZw== where did they get that build spec info from? I know anyone can register on the site and add details of a car, but did they just make up a list of options or what?
Don't mean to be flogging a dead horse, but this stuff is interesting to me.
