I dont know what I’m getting into, I haven’t even taken the door panel off yet. Just wondering if there was any tips to do the replacement. Sounds like its pretty straight forward
Two rods actually. You may need a little screwdriver to pry the clips off the rods and when you install you may need to experiment with whether it's easier with or without bolts in place.
I replaced one in my 72 because it was broken out where the handle slides in.
Replaced it with on old original and it broke out worse than the first one when I slid the handle back on.
Removed door panel and put the perfectly functional broken one back on.

Use Google and search posts on the Corvette Forum on step by step instructions. You really need to understand how to remove the window roll up lever (no power windows) and door lock ****. It’s not hard but you don’t want to go in blind. Obtain a few vendor catalogs that have part illustrations so you can see how the parts fit together.

Th hardest part is getting the window handle off. I have that cheap stamped tool that works well. I tried using dental floss but no luck on that trick for me.
I just had my drivers door panel off to adjust the window the other day. Theres just a bunch of screws holdong it on, thers some up under the ledge where the pull handle is and theres a hidden one down on the front that you cant see easily becausee of the door shape. Its exposed, just hard to see. When you unscrew the openner handle I leave it on, wiggle it to be sure its free and when I slide the door panel off I pull it out and forward and bring that handle with it. the way it slides on it can break the groove on the door mechanism. Once you get get the panel off, take pics of all the rods so you can put them back where they belong...
Hi Jermo. You’ve gotten some good advice and direction already.
FWIW, I thought I’d share an additional tip that’s served me well over the years of R&Ring inner door panels. I’ve found that it’s easier for me to leave the door handle itself on while removing the panel. More importantly for you in this case, install the handle BEFORE you reinstall the inner panel. That little screw that hold the handle onto the mechanism can be a real bugger to set once the panel is on. Just put a couple layers of painters tape on the handle to keep it from getting scratched. Pull the handle outward and slide the inner panel over it, locating the panel to install.
