AC Question
1969 corvette L46 with AC
OK... I'm a little **** .. don't make fun of me.
I am trying to determine and find the proper NOS service port caps for my AC system
I have the M F Dobbins book but it's still not clear.
Can someone help?
Thanks.

Still don't understand your question. There are 2 fittings on the hose manifold that connects to the rear of the compressor. 1 low side and 1 high side. Is your system still R12? Do you need caps?

The caps should be stamped with a W inside a hexagon. That was the logo of the company Weatherhead. They also had a tin plate finish.

Would the generic ones work for you?

Do you want the ones on the left side or right side?
PM me your address and I'll send them to you.
Also, what type of cap do you have on your POA valve?

thatcorvetteguy,
that looks like the one on my POA.
The other 2 at the compressor head are cad cap nuts as shown above.

OK, let me know if you need the other one for your POA Valve. It should be the smaller type you can remove with your fingers.

Here's a photo of the installed caps.. Also one of my Corvette.. Don't you just love Green Vettes?
I bought mine brand spanking new in December of 1968
Thanks again..

Very nice Bibb, now I see why you wanted the ones on the left.
I was a senior in high school when you bought it. Didn't get my first Corvette until December of 1973, a white '69 L46 4 speed coupe. Sold it in '75 and bought my '71 LS5 4 speed Green/Green Convertible. Love the performance of the 350/350.
Glad to help, and the postage is on me.
