Default 1 owner 73 value?

Long story, an acquaintance's husband passed about a month ago and she decided to sell his 73 C3 bought new in Minnesota. She has all the documents for the purchase. Knowing I'm a car guy she asked me to help. It's a 350 4 speed with 62000 miles and garaged all of its life. I went to see the car yesterday and am hoping you guys can help price it accordingly before listing it. looks like it might have been repainted or at least had some touch up work done at some point. It looks like he saved items he changed out or replaced, I found the air cleaner, exhaust manifolds, ignition shield and a few other things that will obviously go with the car but we are wondering about the car itself, the parts will just be thrown into the deal.

Seams are visible on quarters and front fenders, saw one small crack in tail panel/RR quarter and front bumper is cracked. Some flaws in paint, no rust and super clean underneath. Runs great, seems like a small cam was installed (found the comp cams boxes and original parts) and drives solid, no apparent issues with these items.

Honestly, in my opinion it needs paint and some detail work to be 100 percent but it is a super solid nice car.

I'll answer questions as I can, only spent an afternoon with the car.

Any opinions on what she should list it for? Thanks in advance.

Start with - original engine, AC blow cold, interior, list all options, need tires ?? Does everything work? It's a long list to get a close answer to your question. As MelWff said DNA good place to start. Sorry for her loss, you would make her late husband pleased for trying to help. Regards, Mark

Guess I skipped that part, it’s all numbers matching. A/C isn’t blowing cold, everything else works as it should. Tires are good, didn’t check date code while I was there though. Options,

Thanks for the DNA app! It said $21,000.00, which I totally agree with but am wondering since it could use paint and front bumper.

Nice car with good provenance but $21K is pretty tall for the car in it's current condition. Fully restored '73's are selling right around the $20K mark.
I would expect this car to pull $12-14K as it sits.
Cheers, Greg

Yup. All the provenance and original stuff is great, but at the end of the day this is a '73 that needs a paint job, and really nice ones can be had in the low 20's. Anything more than that and you're talking about a real chrome-bumper car.

Moving it down to driver status on DNA puts it at $14,000.00. That pretty much confirms what you guys say. I’m thinking that’s probably a decent area to be in.

Thanks for the help! I appreciate it.

The asking price now should be about $16,500 or reasonable offer. It still needs a pretty good pile of money to make it right and once finished, it will be worth less than what you have in it.

How far off could that be?
