Radiator Install Problem
With a new Champion radiator ready to be installed in my '81, I installed all new radiator to radiator support foam seals. I got the radiator sitting in place, however I could not get the radiator far enough forward to sit in the rubber "saddles." The problem was obvious, the foam seals were thick enough to keep the radiator from being in the correct location. Tell me o' corvette wizards, how in hell can you compress the foam seals enough to get the radiator in the rubber saddles. Anyway, I left them out, but was able to stuff one down on the passenger side. A 150 mile road test with quite a bit of idling time, low speed driving, and sustained 75mph driving, the temp gauge stayed anchored at 180 degrees. (thermostat temp)
