I currently have my '69 with a Corvette specialty shop and have asked for a proposal to replace the carpeting (in addition to what it is there for). What should I expect to have to spend? Also, are there any items I might want to think about as part of the process?

I won't guess at the cost because I did the work myself.
Items to think about:
Top dash
door panels & pulls
rear plastic surrounds for the storage tops
DIN radio center gauge
Anything else that is not as nice as the new carpet.
I took advantage of having everthing out to put the roll on sound insulation down and to replace all the dash bulbs with leds I used spray adhesive on the carpet and found that to be very easy to install.

With side pipes I don't know if sound insulation is necessary, but the heat! Hmmmm.

They'll tell you. Carpet installation isn't particularly difficult, but it's time consuming.

It never fits right. I have done many and they all leave a lot extra to “fit to size” Not difficult to do just time consuming. Never been to a shop as I have always done my own work. Hourly rate can be steep though.
