So after pulling radiator figured it would be good to replace water pump. Do you have to remove the AIR pump too? Assuming the thermostat should be replaced while at it, would stock be 195 and will going to say 180 mess with the computer? Thanks
if your water pump is working fine and not leaking, Not certain why you are replacing it! didn't anyone ever tell you, "Don't fix what anit broke".
I don't have an air pump so I don't know if it's in the way. as per the thermostat, a 180 should work fine.
After looking inside my original radiator I figured why not, everything is wide open now so time to deal with it....Its 40 years old! The AIR smog pump must have to be removed as well, tomorrow will tackle that
Water pump out, ...impeller didnt turn very smoothly on it. Took the smog pump off and bracket and thermostat housing, putting a 180 in it once all is cleaned up. Two plugs from smog do what again? If I don't put the pump back on can they just be wired up and hidden?
