Default winter project

We had snow and freezing rain in northern Virginia today. Nasty weather, but perfect for doing a project I have been putting off. Replaced the front frame cross member. The old one had rust through at the corners and would only get worse. The old bolts came out using a two foot breaker bar with an extra two foot pipe persuader on the end of it. The new cross member was still available from Ecklers and came with a thick powder coat of black paint. Now the bottom of the car finally looks finished and matches all of the new suspension parts.

Excellent work....did the holes on the new crossmember line up fairly well with your frame?

doorgunner- most lined up, but they welded a nut on the two most forward holes that fasten to the bumper brace. I had to grind them off, since the treaded nuts were already on the other side on the brace, not on the crossmember.
