Default 17”x8” Tire size

I am in the process of getting a 69 427/4 speed vette.
I have a nice set of Polished Torque Thrust 2s.
Rears are 17x8 with 4” BS I believe and
Fronts are 17x7 with 4” BS
What size tire can I run on front and rear and fill out wheel wells but not Rub?
Thanks
Dave

Hi Dave,
I run 17x8 TQ2's all around. I run a 255/50 tire front and rear, and has been good. My car is substantially lowered, so that might have an effect. Great so far. On my second set of tires/wheels with this configuration.

I have the same wheels on my '73. Years ago, I test fit some 255/50/17s and they would have rubbed at full turn. I ended up going with 235/55/17s and they work fine.

17X8 TT2's all around with Nitto NT555 P255/45ZR17 tires.
No rub at back and only a slight polishing on front frame at full lock.
