Scissor Jack

Can anyone recommed an aftermarket scissor jack for my '81? I've found the OEM's but they're out of my price range. I figure that it can't be any longer than 16 3/8" in order to fit in the compartment and it will need a collapsible handle. Yes, I do have AAA and will use them but i still would like to carry a jack. Is a hydraulic bottle jack an option?

A bottle jack should work but may not fit under the frame?

pick up a used one at the wreakers. most modern cars come with them. you can pick one up cheap at any junk yard. (Wreakers)

I got a military surplus scissors jack on ebay that fits in the storage compartment. I think it was from a WW2 Jeep.

Porsche makes a nice lite weight aluminum scissors jack.
It was used through out their line up for many years.
Lots of them available on ebay cheaply.
If it can lift the rear of a 911 it can lift ether end of a Corvette.
It has a *** on the top of the pad that can be cut off or be used to hold a new larger pad of your own.
The crank is a bit too long to fit in the storage compartment, but not hard to shorten.
