Default Making progress...slowly

So after about a two month hunt for parts and paint I have finally succeeded in returning my ‘68 to the original hood. When I bought it the car had a long hood and it was ugly and didnt look right. I sources the hood, wiper grille, wiper assembly and wiper door. I rebuilt the wiper assembly and sent the hood and parts to be painted. I finally got around to refitting them today.

I can see that the red is a little off so the shop is going to take in the entire car next month and blend it in.

I also had the T-Tops done in a gloss black.

Looks good. How about a shot of the T-tops?

Progress is always a good thing. shame they couldn't match paint. but good of them to offer to blend. I would be concerned nonetheless. why can't they match paint? and are they going to paint the whole car to match?
not clear about the tops. would think they too should match the car. not look like they came off a black car.
However, it's your baby. if you like it, then it's great.

Maybe not the best photo ever of my car. my hood you most likely wont like. not original. But damn, the paint match is spot on. I've had a few repairs over the years. a few different shops in 2 different countries. no trouble matching the paint.

The paint is red. We assumes torch red and since I didnt have a paint code we just had to take the gas filler door to a paint place and ask them to computer match it. I guess the only other option would have been to paint the entire car but price prevented that.
