Nice to see a range of Corvettes from show & go, to restored to high performance and some fine survivors. I like 'em all.
Along with the C2's, the C3's are among the nicest sport coupes & muscle cars out there. Hats off to all!
And then there is this.................................... ........................
It's my favorite........because it won't look like THAT much longer
A sawsall should help remove the crunched '76 nose the P.O. installed on the '68 convertible

Future plans: Sell the '71 Corvette and the SLK230, along with getting rid of other stuff (trying to downsize but I move slowly).
Don't want my wife to be stuck dealing with these things.
Another Corvette? No, my second one and probably my last.
On another note, lots of beautiful Corvette pictures on this thread.
This is a perfect Corvette! Any modifications to the suspension? What size/brand are the wheels/tires?
What mufflers are those?
Will be retiring soon and starting the process to upgrade a Corvette hopefully by early fall.
Any info you could share would be most appreciated.
Did you get sponsored by Mattel somehow? If not did you have to go through a licensing agreement to use the graphics? If so, how did that come about?
Beautiful dog. One of life's joys and heartbreaks.

Yes she broke my heart......
I contacted Hotwheels when I first did it trying to get the actual toy cars to give away at car shows THey didnt have any over stock, "they never do". They actually kept referring me to other departments trying to get my some toys. I believe they love the free advertisement. Im not trying to or making any money from it, AND they host Hotwheels car shows where you can go and get your car photographed on front of a life size back drop. https://hotwheels.mattel.com/Static/...FINAL_0317.pdf
So I guess as long as Im a good ambassador, they dont mind. If they paid me to go to car shows that would be even better. I was going to the Boston show but Covid dicked that up...maybe next time they come thru... Its not exactly the same so I guess its like the copyright laws, just change it 10%...mine says 68
Oh, the ridiculous part of this whole car toy thing....I was buying that car on Ebay for $1 to 2$ a piece and giving them away at car shows. I bought and gave away just over 300 of them....guess what happens when a single item on ebay gets sold like that. THe price tracker programs see it and let everyone know that the value is going up...Now I cant find them for under $6 dollars ...I actually screwed myself. Kind of funny and sad at the same time. only bought 1 this year so far...none to give away

Were you super-into Hot Wheels as a kid? What was the inspiration for a life-sized version? I bet the cool factor is off the charts with kids at shows!

I had a bunch, It was what my folks could afford and EVERY kid loves a cool hotwheels, boys and girls. I have people stop and ask to take pics all the time. When I was at the end of my driveway fiddling withthe EFI tuner a lady pulled up got out and said..."I dont do this all the time but I would kill myself I i didnt ask....can I take a pic of your car??" I laughed and said sure. Today I drove my buddy to Walmart to look for a TENS unit to shock his back muscles. While I was waiting a guy came over saying the same thing and while we were talking another guy and his kid came over...."Go stands next to it Tony so I's can get a pic...AND DONT TOUCH IT!!!!" I couldnt stop smiling. It is just a great laugh when I here parents say that. THe parents of a certain age love it just as much or more than the klids.
How it started was the Camaro hotwheels that came out about 2004 or so that was a Hotwheels car from GM. It had the little metal Hotwheels emblem on it. Well i found some of those online so I stuck them on my car where the stingray badge should be. At the car shows the kids would see it and they loved it. Then I wanted a little toy to stick on the windshield and I randomly found the 352/365 blue 69 car. Well I had that on the car and kept telling my buddy that I wanted to wrap the car like that. At yet another car show I ran into another buddy that I became friends with when he hand pinstripped the LT1 stripes on my hood....for a $150 bucks!!!! So I mentionded to him what I wanted to do, and he said he could do it...I said not paint in case its too over the top, I wanted to wrap it...he said he could still do it.....guess what I said.
Turns out he had a ton of hotwheels and collects them...Of course he was as into it as I was..
Kind of hard to blend into a crowd now...... Last year when Johnny and I were making noise at Hampton beach a cop had to stop and tell us he had complaints..I asked him if he was sure it was us. There could be another Hotwheels blue corvette in Hampton.

Thank you for sharing the progression story. It's certainly not something you take out when you don't want to talk with folks! I love it and think it looks fantastic.
